Ireland is full of Techno and Tay-tos

We knew that this would be a very long day of road tripping and we actually sat down and cut some of the places we had planned on going to because the roads were so rough. A trip that we figured would take a hour or two really took 3-4 because all of the roads are basically “two laned”. I say “two laneed” in quotes because in the US the size of the road we were traveling on really would only hold 1 lane of traffic.  We headed west from Dublin and as part of that we listend to the radio. We had noticed when we arrived like every station was techno but  since we road tripped for hours we were VERY aware of it by the time we got home.

Our first stop was Clonmacnoise, which was a very old Abby, and considered one of the most important abbys of western Europe. The most interesting part of that was that sharlamains tutor studied there. I have to say I was a little disappointed. We drove for hours to get to this Abby in the middle of nowhere and I guess for whatever reason I feel like religious historical sites should still have a little religion in them, but this place did not. It also didn’t feel all that special to me. I had two favorite things here, one was the statue named “pilgrim” and second was the cows. The pictures did come out pretty well as the weather turned amazing while we were there.

The cost in pounds to fill up our little Griffin.

We drove from small town to small town. Seeing lots of small villages and an occasional city. We had plans on seeing a couple other things but wow did those roads and towns slow us down. So we did what we do best, ate, went shopping and drove to our hotel. The food was okay, the store was CRAZY, we found an ASDA, which is a partner of Wal-Mart. We ended up buy Jason something and had all kinds of trouble paying because our credit card lacks a chip. All European cards have chips, us American’s, we don’t. It’s pretty annoying.  So enjoy some country side pictures of our roadtrip... sadly we didn't get any pictures of roundabouts which are like every 10 feet and we didn't get pictures of the sings in Irish and English, which was just crazy to look at.
I even drove in construction.
