Ist der Obstsalat frisch?

Whats the deal with your blog title?
The first phase Jason said to me in German as we were leaving nashville was "Ist der Obstsalat frisch?". It means, is the fruit salad fresh. We laughed about how useful this phrase from the phrase book would be and this morning at our breakfast, there it was... a huge bowl of fruit salad. Needless to say he said it to me again.

Today was a travel day so this blog won't be so linear and the pictures won't rotate but I'm giving up. :)

This morning we had a crazy adventure trying to mail stuff to my parents, and Karl. I think the post people were enjoying themselves watching us struggle and asking us questions like “what do you call this”. In the end I believe our stuff will make it home… I’m not sure if customs will require payment upon delivery but maybe I can look it up tonight and find out. Following our postal adventure we at some lunch and ended up seeing a Buddhist parade before heading to the train station.

An ashtray with brail.
Beer is easy... water is another question.

Here we come France.

Sweet pictures on the train.
This is what pure awesome looks like. haha
My workspace on the ICE.

Mountain side view from the train.
For whatever reason thees photos won't rotate...
But this is what backpacking looks like. :)

Stasbourg is like Disney on crack. Everything looks perfect while you are in the old city. We explored a bit, getting to see "Petite France" which oddly looks more Germany than anything else in town, the hospital wine cellar but it was closed and the Cathedral.

I want a sink that color!

The hospital cellar. Supposed to be amazing... but not open until Monday. Hope we make it back.

An actual EU fire truck! I think this is a first for me.

We lit a candle for our loved ones. Mine is on the Right, Jason's is on the left.

Astronomical clock in the church.

Guttenburg statue.

Bridge

That moves for the tour boat!

After a little city exploration we decided to retreat to our air conditioned hotel and relax. We've found some VERY interesting TV including Family Guy in German (being watched in France) and lots of Simpsons episodes in French.
