Our last full day in London was filled with classic sites and events. Our first mission of the day was to see the changing of the guard. Let me just go ahead and say this, I found it disappointing... and if I were the queen I'd shoot those musicians and guards for not marching in perfect time and for needing music stand. Yeah, yeah I know it's harsh but come one they're representing your whole monarchy. They should be the best of the best. We literally thought they were like our ROTCs or high school guard... but we got to see them and they weren't kids! You obviously get my point. The only thing that made it worth while was the crazy cops on horses screaming at people and the band played the Austin Powers theme song... which was not only shocking after all the broadway tunes (which included I dream a dream) but funny. PS: I did start to rain while we were there.
After mailing some stuff home and eating lunch we headed to St. Paul's Cathedral. We hit it just right and they had just done it's big reveal after its restoration process. I found it to be AMAZING. I couldn't take any pictures inside and I'm still kicking myself for not buying anything. We climbed to one of the upper domes which was like 200 circular steps and decided 200 more would be cool but ultimately we were to tired, lazy and a bit nervous about the small quarters.
One of our BIG plans that just happened to workout was to see the Royal Ballet while in town. So we got tickets, which I Was SUPER excited about and headed out to the O2. When we arrived we hailed a cab off we went to the royal observatory. Sadly it wasn't open but that didn't stop us from seeing the BIG attraction which is the prime meridian. The view and the line made it totally worth the cab fare.

We had dinner and then we were off to the ballet. I was soooo excited until I started to grasp that this wasn't going to be an intimate performance... any my cheapo seats really were going to be cheapo seats. But what I saw as we lined up to get in amazed me. A whole arena full of people to watch a ballet... that's amazing... but at the same time it sort of bastardized it for me. I know that sounds weird but the fact that I was in a sports arena environment with snacks and draft beer just took some of the class out of the ballet. But what REALLY killed it was the bad choreography. Let me back track, we were there to see Romeo and Juliet. Not a classical ballet, which very well could be part of my criticisms. It was almost as though they forsake the ballet to tell the story but forsaken the story to add dancing. Hard to explain. I'm not saying I wish I hadn't gone.. because I am gald I went, and it was obvious that the dancers themselves had incredible talent. Anyway, I got a couple pictures and I'm betting the fat that it was almost sold out will blow your mind too.

This is a FULL arena of people for the Ballet. Can you believe there are that many people to see the ballet? |

My water REALLY enjoyed the ballet. |
By the time we got "home" we were spent. Super long day with a decently early flight in the morning to Ireland. I can't tell you how worried I've been about the fact I'll be driving over there. Did I mention I almost had a panic attack when I was thinking about how different everything is in the UK driving wise. Not just the obvious stuff but I had this though "What if the clutch is on the other side too?! We'll die!! I have no modulation of the my left leg at all.
