The stomach Flu
I woke up on Saturday with a weird rumbling in my tummy. I didn't think much of it because I actually slept in till 11am. That's REALLY late by my typical Saturday morning standards so we decided on pancakes for brunch. Sadly by the time I finished my pancakes I was starting to feel bad. I'll spare you all the details and just say that I had the typical symptoms. I think what was really upsetting was knowing I was also missing a good friends 30th b-day bash. I'd been looking forward to this party for months. Early Sunday morning, I woke Jason up in puking in the middle of the night.. never a pretty site. But by Sunday night I was ready to try a little more food, so I added rice to my diet of gator-aid, water, sprite and occasional crackers. All seemed well and I even got up and began my drive to my residency. That when I realized I needed gas in my car... Got gas... then got onto I-840 and due to salt, snow and dirt my windshield got so dirty I couldn't see. No problem, I think, I'll use my wipers...... oh oops they're frozen and so are my windshield sprayers. 14 degrees is horribly cold but look at me I'm still doing okay. Well I was until 2 miles from my residency exit with 10 mins til I have to be there. What's that feeling... oh no, I'm sick... again... in the middle of nowhere.. I can't believe I'm going to have to call in on my 2nd week. But honestly at this point I'm exhausted, I mean I've been up since 5:30 trying to get to work... I shouldn't have even attempted the drive in... all the schools are closed due to snow and ice, my dr. is closed due to weather... and I'm now stuck my parents house instead of at home. It's nice to be somewhere nice where I can get to a private bathroom but other than that I wish I was at my own house.
