The Louvre, a blog of pictures

This morning we slept in a bit (11am here 4am at home). Not only are we struggling with the time change, but we are also learning how to live in an apartment in the city. It’s been a while for both of us. The first thing on our list was to go to the pharmacy and get some more Sudafed for Jason. We tried to also get some guaifenesin but the pharmacist acted like she was unsure and ended up selling us an expensive (5,50€) antihistamine with some additive like acetaminophen (Tylenol) and vitamin C. It’s called Fervex. He finally tried it just a bit ago... smelled yummy but didn't taste so great.

After our adventure in with the pharmacy we headed to the post office to mail Rebecca’s birthday post card. It’s so crazy how particular everyone is about exact change. It was no different at our brief stop at la Poste.

We headed to the Louvre and that is where we spent the whole day. We hadn’t planned on spending that much time, but there was a lot we wanted to see, and if you’ve been there, then you’ll know that it’s like a maze to get through.

Mary Magdalene

The first paitings of dogs ever.

Mercury

The Mona Lisa, funny how everyeone was there to see her.

Jason's favorite painting.

We're just like Where's Waldo.

Seriously straving I splurged for a 5 sandwich.

Some Italian chick and her sister. Turns out they think this nipple pinch was about her pregnancy, possibly.

Just one of the girls. haha

Venus de Milo

By the time we got out of the Louvre it was dark and raining. We stopped for a pricey hot chocolate across from the Comédie française in hopes of figuring out where the Galeries Lafayette and Printemps were and to get out of the rain. After a brisk walk in the rain and no success finding the two stores, we found our way to a métro stop (beside the Bourse) and headed home via the neighborhood grocery (G20) and boulangerie (bread store).

Dinner was a quite yummy and rang up to a grand total of 3,19€ for both of us! Our after dinner activities include laundry, dishes and planning for tomorrow. It's just like we live here. :)

Yep our little apartment has a dishwasher under the stove. :)

  1. I loved the tour. The painting that Jason likes looks like one that I have seen in a book , what is the name of it? The Mona looked just liked the one you have at home! :) I hope Jason still has clear snot, and if you need we can send you some . You look so happy as does Jason. Kids are fine and are making us happy ! Love to you both. Mom
