Prayer of St. Francis Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon:
where there is doubt, faith ;
where there is despair, hope
where there is darkness, light
where there is sadness, joy
O divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

This prayer resonates with me, I don't know why but it's calming to my soul. After looking up a little more information on St Francis of Assisi I found that he is the patron saint of animals and the envrioment. I wish I had a way to look at this prayer everyday and I can't help but think if I had enough flesh I’d get it tattooed on me. These last few days really called for me to have something in my mind to help me through what seems to be 12 full weeks of trials. Many thanks the St. Francis and God for the prayer that brings me peace and recenters my thought process.

Since it happens to be La Fête Nationale and this prayer was originally printed in French here is the original version -
