To Let or Toilet?

We have seen “To Let” signs all over Europe and Jason commented to that they make him thing they are big toilet signs. I didn’t think anything of it until I started seeing the all capital version. If you look quacking it really does look like TO(I)LET.  Yeah, okay back to the blog.

I wanted to see Rosalyn Church, you may know this  church from the Di Vinchi code, or if you’re a mason. It was pretty far out but pretty and really neat. The thing that make this church so special is the amazing masonry and the mixture of Christian and pagan statues. There are green mean carvings, and religious carvings throughout and somewhat like a hidden picture. Sadly I couldn’t take pictures of the inside. Check out http://www.rosslynchapel.org.uk/ for more information.

Meet my car "Little Bit".

Through our time in Europe we kept hearing of 2 things : 1. Greece, wow am I glad we didn’t add that to the itinerary even thought I really wanted to go and 2. This plan to outlaw “disturbing the peace” but this was a bit more specific as saying things although not listing what those illegal things would be would cause you to be arrested. The papers were loving this and had headlines abound about it. I’ll be really curious to see how it turns out. Lots of people against the idea, it really made me appreciate our rights in the US.

That's a headline.

Kept seeing Belmont bumper stickers... so I finally got a picture of one. The font is even similar.

Next on our list was Edinburgh castle. It was neat but lost a little of it’s charm by being kept up the way it was. Jason enjoyed the history of it and I was most touched by the pet cemetery. This is where solders dogs have been burred for years. Sad to think about but it was very tasteful and sweet.

Getting ready for the Tattoo. Not a tattoo but THE Royal Military Tattoo.

I double dared him to stand with that piping statue. For those of you that don't know Jason he plays the bagpipes.

Dog cemetery.

Loved the highland cow hat!!

Our final stop was Parliament. Sadly we didn’t get there early enough to go in, which now that we know what was going on with all the “disturbance of peace” issues, I’m kind of glad we didn’t. We did get to see the outside, which was pretty cool, and following we found Internet in a pub that was having personal pizza’s two for one. Hell yeah, and I wonder where the extra weight was coming from.

I absolutely loved Edinburgh if it wasn’t for the dreariness and rain I could see living there. I hope we get to visit Scotland again. We have so much more to see and do. We didn’t even get to go to Lochness or Skara brae.
