Happy wedding day Mark and Missy!

I know I still need to do the Iceland blogs, but writing my travel blogs aren't near as much fun when I'm not on vacation. Plus I think I'm kind of not wanting to do it since that really means the trip is over. I know it's stupid but it was something I'd been looking forward to for years. Anyway,  today is a very special day. Today is one of my dearest friends wedding.

Mark has been a friend since early 1999. Although, we were from completely different "groups" way back in high school, we managed to form a friendship. Somehow that friendship has lasted the test of time and we've been friends longer than either one of us really expected. We've leaned on each other  though what I consider some of the hardest times in our lives, which is early adulthood, AKA "growing up". When I look back on the past 12 or so years, I remember all that we've gone through - graduations, moves, failures, phone number changes, successes, dates,  jobs, deaths of friends and family, new vehicles, new loves and now Mark is finally getting married (I took that leap almost 8 yrs ago). :)

When Mark started telling me about Missy, it just "felt" different. It felt real and sincere. He seemed more serious when talking about her and he was actually kind of asking me for advice, which isn't typical of Mark. I did my best to support him with ideas and knowledge of how females work. And before I knew it talk became even more serious and our  conversation turned to engagement rings and how to ask her to marry him. It was an  honor to be somewhat a part of such an important life event. I remember sitting at home, nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof, watching FB waiting for a picture or something so I'd know she'd said yes.

I am so excited and thankful that Mark has found someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with. It has been great to see him so happy and more settled than he has been in years. I wish them many many years of love and happiness. Although, I'm bummed that I'm not there today and that I'm not getting to meet Missy, I'm with them both in spirit. And, the major bonus for me is I'm gaining a friend for life today. :)

Congratulations Mark and Missy! Happy Wedding day!!

PS: This video is for you guys since it's not exactly wedding appropriate but still a favorite. :D
