Money Sucks!!!

I'm finally realizing that we are broke; broker than I imagined but I won't go into that. It really is amazing to me how hard it is for 2 people to live on a teacher's salary. Welcome to the world of working poor.

Onto my financial hate list:

  • I hate knowing that I've gone so far into debt for school
  • I hate that our insurance premium is going up and that now we are going to have a deductable for some services
  • I hate that we have credit card debt
  • I hate that we have already bought tickets for Paris this Christmas and for Iceland and Europe for this summer.... because now we uber broke
  • I hate that we still owe money for my car and I have over 100,000 miles on it
  • I hate having depend on my parents for lunch money

On the positive.... because we should always end on a positive note

  • I like that we are taking steps to take charge of our debt
  • I like the I FINALLY am aware of our financial situation
  • I like that Jason is taking responsibility for his financial mistakes
  • God will provide for me
  • It is just money... and well even if I just eat bread and drink water the whole time I'm in Europe at least I'll be in Europe

  1. I have to agree with the last bullet about eating bread and drinking water in Europe. It may cost an arm and a leg to get there, but it's worth it even if all you can do is free stuff like walking around and taking pictures! :)

  2. I hear you! We live on two full time salaries and still have all the same problems. Looks good on paper, but never seems to go well... and I doubt I will ever have the money to go to Europe ever, regardless of what I eat there!

  3. I like you and your husband's attitude about it. =) Don't regret your purchase of the tickets. No matter what, you'll be in EUROPE! You gotta live life! You will gain so much by your experiences in other countries- I can only imagine, since I've only ever been to Canada and the Bahamas. Even if all you can do is eat bread and drink water, absorbing the culture and history all around you is going to be incredible. The memories you will have, the knowledge you will gain, will be with you for the rest of your lives. Money is just money, like you said. You might have to pay off debts for a long time but life is worth living. Consider your trips an investment in your personal enrichment! =) Check out Dave Ramsey, from all I've heard, he has really transformed peoples' lives by helping them overcome debt. =) I want to see what he's all about, myself.
