"We did the F word and now we're the P word."

Most of you probably figured out why I haven't done my final post about Iceland, that's because the BIGGEST thing in our whole lives happened there. Turns out two lines = pregnant. :) Now that I'm 16 weeks and the secret is out, be looking for my Iceland blog and many more about pregnancy. Hopefully I don't turn into a crazy, nothing else is happening in the world except my pregnancy/baby/child type. I'd prefer to be more like "moms who drink and swear".  I think after 16 weeks or 4 months, (well really I've only been knocked up for 14 of those), I am finally get comfortable  with the idea that I'm carrying a baby, it's okay, I'm okay and life is going to be different but awesome. I wasn't like the people on TV or movies that were crying from excitement or sadness. I was kind of numb. I was/am excited but almost in disbelief. I think since I'm going with a more natural labor and birth and using a midwife that has also allowed me to slowly become comfy with the idea. I haven't seen baby yet, I had my 1st appointment at 11 weeks, where I heard the heartbeat, which was incredible, weird and eye opening but it wasn't until my 2nd appointment at  15 weeks when I heard the heartbeat again, and the baby kicked or punched at the dopplert, that I finally had that moment of reality. I'm not longer hiding it, I can talk about it freely, my belly is growing and although it's still not 100% obvious to the unknowing, I know. I can't wait to feel the "flutters" of movement but for now I'm satisfied that I can feel then the whole baby shifts from one side to the other. Our baby is about the size of an avocado, which is kind of weird when you think about it starting out as microscopic. Anyway, there it is, it's official in my blog. The "discovery" story is forth coming... and many more posts.
