Eggbert, the world traveler

To get my mind off my sickness and now anxiety since I can't breath, I thought I'd blog a little bit about our sweet little fetus, we call it Eggbert. :)

I know I mentioned that our pregnancy was quite a surprise to me and although we had talks of trying for a baby in the near future but the fact that we got pregnant while on vacation and before I started my new job has been crazy.  I never imagined in a million years how quick the gears in my brain switched when I got those 2 lines. I immediately started thing "Oh god, what I have done that could be harmful?". I ate a ton of un-pasturized cheese and milk. I'm do not even have a full month after my 30th b-day when Eggbert will arrive! And along those lines, How am I going to start a new job in the medical field with morning sickness? What if I miscarriage? What if all that travel hurt our Eggbert? How will we afford a baby? Are we ready? How could I love something so much already? Where do I want my baby to grow up? I'll have no FMLA. Disposable or cloth? Jason needs a new vehicle. And on and on.

It took me until week 16 when I heard the heart beat for a second time for me to chill  out a bit. Yes, it's all still very scary but I guess in a way I feel like, if my fetus lived that long can make it and at this point what a life it has had! And now for a list of things my fetus/baby has done and it's not even 20 weeks yet!

Pretty impressive list. ;) I feel bad for the next kid we have/if we have a 2nd because they won't have near the story that or first one does.

I'm seriously so excited and nervous about our first and BIG ultrasound on the 11th. Just a little over a week to go. Will it be a boy? Will it be a girl? Will it be both?! Will our due date change? Is our dear baby healthy? I'm sure every pregnant women worries. What will it feel like to see my baby for the first time? For our first doppler the sound was overwhelming and as the emotions welled up inside me, I started to laugh. It was a surreal moment. It was like, wow, there really is a baby in there... and it has an amazing heart beat. It's REAL!

I actually do a feel a bit better. Distraction is good medicine. :)

PS- A belly pic for all you curious. It's a decent belly pic but not so much my face. Anyway, if you have any thoughts on what I should do with my hair let me know. The debate is go back to the graduated bob or let it grow out and donate it again. :)
